I'm bumping my answer up since it's on the previous page so Coffeedan can see the answer. We'll give him till tomw, then I'll post the next one so the thread isn't tied up.KayFrancis wrote: ↑February 18th, 2023, 3:34 am The Harrison Ford film was The Nervous Wreck 1926 comedy
The musical comedy remake was 1930 Whoopee starring Eddie Cantor
Up In Arms starring Danny Kaye was a musical comedy (1944 ) also based on both films
???
Re: SPOILERS!
Correct on both counts! I saw THE NERVOUS WRECK at Cinevent a few years ago. It's a pretty funny film in its own right.KayFrancis wrote: ↑February 18th, 2023, 3:34 am The Harrison Ford film was The Nervous Wreck 1926 comedy

Didn't know about UP IN ARMS, though. I'll have to take a closer look at that.
Sorry about the delay in responding -- I was getting my computer serviced today. Carry on!

Yes, it's Baby Face. Love this film and Barbara Stanwyck's performance was terrific . One of my very favorite pre-codes. So happy you know the film, every classic film lover should know this one. Quoting myself -- I don't understand the Gummo interruption, EP, much as I love that film. My clue is above, here it is again:

That's right ziggy. The clue about the underwear refers to Madame Goteborg, who utters the last line of the film (apart from the song): "I warn you, I'm wearing stays again!"ziggy6708a wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2023, 12:12 am aah-hah...
