... No, Allhallowsday, I don't think the two are ever together. It's the idea of featuring those disparate instruments within the same soundtrack.
As to the electronica in DELIVERANCE, it's John Boorman's synthesizer - possibly programmed by Paul Beaver - if I had to guess. (Beaver and Boorman previously collaborated on "POINT BLANK".)

Cool, I remember "Dueling Banjos"... and that throbbing creepy score... I had looked it up, probably BOORMAN.
