Re: The Greatest Suicides on Film
For what I understand Moorehead jumped to her death to incriminate Bogart. The suicide scene in the French film Noyade interdite from 1987 was remade in the Thelma & Louise movie.
Re: The Greatest Suicides on Film
As for suicide on film, I don't know that the scene itself is visually great or well-acted, but there's a suicide in The Big Heat that really drives the plot.

Brooks from The Shawshank Redemption.
A Star is Born: Both Fredric March and James Mason each in their own way, but I give the edge to James Mason.

If you watched the closing remarks by Eddie last Sat night, he said that the David Goodis novel has Madge jump out the window but because of the code at that time, suicide was not permitted in a film so that it was filmed as an accident not suicide.nakanosunplaza wrote: ↑May 8th, 2024, 5:08 pm For what I understand Moorehead jumped to her death to incriminate Bogart.
